Scense Adaptive Installer

Scense Adaptive Installer is Scense's answer to application conflicts. In stead of time and money consuming techniques like application packaging or application virtualization, Scense Adaptive Installer will resolve application conflicts on the fly, unattended, fast, cost effective and without any technical training. 

Adaptive Installer will eliminate all possible conflicts on the desktop, real time, during installation. Adaptive Installer does not need expensive conflict databases or packaging experts and rogue applications will not harm your business application anymore.

How does it work?

Scense will control the full session of the user: from start up until shutdown. As soon as an end user decides to use an application that does not reside on the desktop yet, it will be installed automatically (or streamed or activated depending on the technique in use).

In case of a Windows Installer file, Scense will pause the installation process just before the application is actually installed on the desktop. An analysis will be done of the contents of the msi-file and all shared components in the msi-file will be compared with the shared components that are already present on the desktop. If case of an imminent conflict, Scense will isolate the conflicting components and the installation will continue. This process is fully automated and does not need any input from the end user or the administrator. In the end, the application will be installed without any application conflicts.

And the MSI?

Scense will not modify the original msi file. All changes to the installation process will be stored separate from the original installer file.

How does Scense Adaptive Installer reduce my TCO?

Most organizations use packaging specialists or application virtualization to deal with application conflicts. Packaging and virtualization will take an considerable amount of time (long time to value) and is very expensive. Even worse: these costs will be recurring because every change, update or upgrade will need a new packaging or virtualization effort.
