Scense accelerates UK market growth in partnership with TDIST
Scense, the fastest growing provider of Workspace Management Software, is entering the UK market in partnership with UK distributor TDIST. Together with its resellers, TDIST is promoting the benefits of virtualization to help cut IT costs. Stewart Constantine, Sales Director at TDIST, says about the partnership: “Scense is the only User Workspace Management vendor which is offering end-users the chance to use their own computer on their school’s or company’s networks. I like the flexibility of their solutions and the fact that there is no need to individually license all users. The IT manager keeps control over who gets access to which applications, while at the same time empowering the end-users.” TDIST sees opportunities for the Scense solutions in the UK market place and is closely cooperating with resellers targeting the education market. “There are many possible customers for the software, especially in the VM space,” adds Constantine.
Scene 7.5 - Optimizing Dynamic Applications
Scense released earlier in the year Scense 7.5, which complements ThinApp and VMware View implementations. Scense 7.5 speeds up the adoption of desktop and application virtualization. The release addresses some of the major hurdles which hamper IT managers when they face starting a VMware View or ThinApp project. “Our philosophies are complementary,” comments Koen Bouwers, CEO of Scense. “TDIST has a lot of experience and knowledge of the health, government and educational sectors in Britain. They will be instrumental in introducing the Scense Migration Toolkit for Windows 7. The software delivers a highly automated process which, depending on customer choices, results in a single, cost-effective, manageable and transparent desktop infrastructure. The migration toolkit will help companies deal with the majority of the manual tasks and associated challenges that have to be carried out when migrating to Windows 7.” According to industry analysts estimates, most businesses have not yet migrated to Windows 7. It is expected though that almost all schools and enterprises will deploy it in 2011 and 2012.
